Giving Back
You know that old saying about "standing on the shoulders of giants?" It's absolutely true. I couldn't even dream of making money with ARGs if it weren't for the community.
With that in mind, I am committing 10% of any money made from ARGs back to the community at least until Halloween (October 31st). At that point I will evaluate how things are going. I am likely to extend the program, though the exact terms may change.
In this round of giving back you have two options for where your money goes.
Unfiction
Unfiction is home of the Unforums, where the vast majority of community building and collaborative problem-solving happens. It's a safe assumption that without unfiction, the ARG community would not be what it is today. They are currently funded 90% by the creator and moderators, according to according to a plea for money.ARGFest 2011
ARGFest 2010 was underfunded. ARGFest 2010 was also where I met many ARG people for the first time. I got way more out of the fest than I put into it. I want ARGFest 2010 to be the last ARGFest that wants for money.Write-In
Don't want to donate to any of the pre-selected options? Show me where to donate the money that will benefit the ARG community, and I will consider it. In fact, I may add it to the list of recommended recipients!
